Words cannot describe how much I love Wagamama. Seriously. One night, Laura, Niki and I decided we needed a girls night out. So, we decided on going to Wagamama and then for a few cocktails, I'd never been before so I was getting pretty damn excited (as I do with food). I actually spent an hour the previous night looking at the menu and choosing what I wanted. (Yes, I am lame. I even know what I'm going to have when I go back.)
First things first.
Drinks! Laura had to skip the alcohol at first because her glands were swollen :[ but she joined in later. The one in the back with the lemon is 511 Fuji club which was Niki's, "rum, with fresh apple and lime juice garnished with an apple wheel" (£5.25) Mine at the front was a 510 Harajuku "vodka, honey and thai basil with fresh pineapple juice" (£5.25) I can't deny anything with honey in it, and this had vodka too AND pineapple juice. I think I died a little from happiness. Laura had the peach iced tea (£1.75)
So after a short wait of choosing food (Well, Laura and Niki aren't as sad as me and didn't choose their food the previous night) and me getting more and more excited, our food had arrived.
Chilli Squid - £5,35
Oh baby <3 This stuff was actually amazing. "Deep-fried squid seasoned with sea salt and shichimi. Served with a chilli, garlic and coriander dipping sauce" The squid was really nice and crunchy on the outside but beneath all the deep fried goodness the insides were nice and chewy as squid should be. I could have eaten this twice <3 Thank god I can use chopsticks.
Chilli Beef Ramen - £11.85
God, I love ramen. I really, really do. Especially this ramen, which turned up in a bowl which was at least 3x bigger than I expected with a ma-hoosive sirloin beef steak in it. I was a little worried about how hot the chilli was gonna be in this but I ended up putting extra chilli oil into it, which gave it that extra kick it needed. The beef was great, nice and pink in the middle and not chewy at all, which is great considering I'm not amazing with chopsticks. I did struggle a bit at first with picking stuff up, but I got back into it. Just like riding a bike >:D The chicken and beef soup was really great, I managed to eat all the noodles and beef but I left a bit of the soup because I was just so full. THERE WAS SO MANY BEANSPROUTS.
All in all, I love Wagamama and I really wanna go back! Like, now! <3
