Magic Corn. Broadmarsh Shopping Centre, Nottingham.
On what seemed like the first day off I'd had in forever, me and my friend Peri decided to hop on the bus and do a bit of shopping in Nottingham. I'd skipped breakfast because I was in a rush to get out of the house and was feeling pretty hungry while we were walking through Broadmarsh. It was too early for lunch and Peri suggested we have some "Magic Corn". My immediate reaction was "...what." as she took me to the little stall saying she'd get us one to share. We're greeted by a smiley man at a green cart type stall with posters on it with all the different flavour corn you can have. Peri orders the "Magic Cheese" saying she'd had it before.
Magic Cheese Corn - £1.50
We didn't have anywhere to put it down, so Peri had to hold it up while I snapped a quick photo of it. It's made in a small takeaway coffee style cup. The guy puts half the corn in, then a spoonful of butter, then the rest of the corn followed by the "Magic" part. The powdered flavouring. Doesn't sound great, huh? He then shook it for a little while and handed it to us, with a tiny yellow spoon. I was pretty dubious to say the least as I love corn but I'm not a huge fan of melted cheese, or anything of that consistency.
Once it'd cooled down I had a spoonful, it wasn't half bad. The powder sort of disappeared down to the bottom of the cup, so that bit was pretty gross. The cheese flavour really just reminded me of Wotsits. It was the same colour and texture of the stuff left on your fingers after a bag of Wotsits. It was alright, but I would have just preferred it plain with butter, salt and cracked black pepper.
